Barclaycard is teaming up with Uber to issue a credit card called the Uber Visa Card. While technically co-branded with the ride share company, there are almost no Uber related benefits, which is kind of confusing. Nevertheless this card, which will earn rewards in the form of cash back, has impressive cash back rates that (in most ways) beat other cash back cards.

You can't apply for the Uber Visa quite yet.

A month ago I wrote about ridesharing apps Uber and Lyft. If you aren't familiar with Lyft yet, it is very similar to Uber in that it is a mobile application that connects people in need of rides to drivers. Both are somewhat of a substitute for your standard taxi service.

I have a friend named Cate that used to drive for Uber, and recently made the switch to driving for Lyft.

Facebook Messenger now allows you to book an Uber ride directly from a conversation.

To celebrate, you can get your first Uber ride booked through messenger for free, up to a $20 ride.
For a limited time, you’ll get a free ride the first time you use this feature (up to $20 value) with Uber. All you have to do to claim your free ride is link your existing Uber account or set up a new account within Messenger and request a ride.

1. Select the silhouette in a circle in the top left of the Uber home screen to bring up the menu.

2. Select "HELP."

3. Select "Account."

Select "I'd like to know my rating."

5. Select "Submit."

Your rating will appear. Mine is 4.8 stars out of 5.

I'm happy with 4.8. The rating is displayed when drivers are deciding whether to accept a ride, but I imagine most won't reject you unless your rating is terrible.

Capital One and Uber have teamed up to offer Capital One Quicksilver cardholders a 20% rebate on Uber rides until April 30, 2016.

This is in addition to the standard 1.5% cash back on all purchases with the Quicksilver card for 21.5% back total.
