American Airlines is increasing the number of miles needed for most awards–including huge increases in First Class–on March 22, 2016. There are just 13.5 days left to lock in the current award prices for travel through February 2017.

You can currently book through February 2, 2017, and on March 21, 2016, you can book through February 15, 2017.

I’ve shared awards that you should book before the devaluation because they are going way up in price, and I’ve shared tricks to potentially extend the time period during which you can book at current prices.

If you don’t want to book the awards yourself, that’s where the MileValue Award Booking Service comes in. Basically you tell us the award you want, and we use your miles to book it. You pay us $125 per person per award if we succeed and nothing if we don’t. Here’s a more detailed post on how it all works.

Based on the United devaluation in 2014, I anticipate a deluge of award requests in the next few weeks, so get yours in as soon as possible.
