It’s the end of the third week (of five weeks) of discounted travel packages from the US Travel Association called Daily Getaways.

Yesterday I received the following email from Barclays about a promotion on my Barclaycard AAdvantage Red World Elite Mastercard...

You can earn 10,000 American Airlines miles for meeting a $2,250 spending requirement over the months of May, June, and July. That's kind of like earning 5x on everyday spending (12,250 miles earned total / $2,250 = 5.44)

Granted, it's 5x on American Airlines miles which we value a little lower than typical legacy carrier miles due to lack of SAAver level award space.

Alaska Airlines MileagePlan is running a 40% bonus sale, available to the first 2,500 MileagePlan members who take action. You can buy 10,000 Alaska miles at a time that will come with a 4,000 miles bonus. If 2,500 members don't purchase sale miles by 11:59pm on May 3, the promotion will end then.

Including taxes, you'll pay $295.63 for 14,000 miles, or 2.11 cents per mile. We've seen Alaska miles on sale with as much as a 50% bonus, allowing you to buy them for 1.97 cents each.

Daily Getaways is a series of daily discounted travel packages sponsored by the US Travel Association that started last two weeks ago and runs for three more. Every weekday at 1 PM ET, a discounted travel package or packages will go on sale, and the best deals sell out in just a few minutes.

Delta and Alaska Airlines are completely severing their partnership as of May 1, 2017. If you were planning on redeeming Alaska miles on a Delta flight, or a Delta miles on an Alaska flight, do so by April 30.
What This Means
No more codeshare agreement, no more earning miles nor elite credits, and no more redemptions of miles on each others flights.

Below is the timetable released by Delta of which flights on Alaska, depending on when they were/are booked, will earn SkyMiles.

JetBlue is giving away 1,000 one-way economy flights within the contiguous United States or Alaska (excluding Hawaii) good for travel between May 1, 2017, and June 15, 2017. You can enter once daily in their "Tax Return Return Flight" promotion until it ends on April 25 at 11:59 pm ET.
