Daily Getaways is a series of daily discounted travel packages sponsored by the US Travel Association that started last Monday and runs for five weeks. Every weekday at 1 PM ET, a discounted travel package or packages will go on sale, and the best deals sell out in just a few minutes.

In 2013, Scott blogged every deal. In 2014, 2015, and 2016, Scott blogged the good ones:

The best deals tend to be the selling of hotel points at super low prices or the purchasing of underpriced certificates for hotel stays and car rentals.

Here’s the overview of the second week. The best deal for the most people this week is probably tomorrow’s, 10,000 Best Western Rewards for $55.

The other days offers’ could be valuable if you plan on visiting those specific destinations before the certificate’s expiration.

Tomorrow’s Deal

Tomorrow’s deal is 10,000 Best Western points for $55. There are 835 packages for sale, and each buyer is limited to five packages of 10,000 points (50,000 total points.) Is buying Best Western points for 0.55 cents a good deal? I would not buy speculatively at that price, but it could be a good deal for some hotel stays.

Best Western does not publish an award chart anymore that I’m aware of, but I belive free nights at start at 8,000 points and go up to 36,000 points as they always have. At these prices, 8,000 points cost $44 and 36,000 points cost $180.

Click the Rates drop-down to select Best Western Reward Points when you’re searching for award nights…

…and you can see the points price by listed in each hotel’s box.

In general, I found that many hotels would be cheaper if you bought the points through today’s sale to book them than if you just booked them at bestwestern.com. But the differences weren’t huge, so this sale doesn’t tempt me.

If you plan on staying at a Best Western, compare the cash price to how much it would cost to buy points at .55 cents each. If the second figure is less, get online and be ready to buy this package by 1 pm ET tomorrow.

When will the Points Post?

The deal says: “Within 10-15 business days of purchase, you’ll have 10,000 Best Western Rewards points deposited into the Best Western Rewards account that you provide at time of purchase, to use however you choose.”

Look out for individual posts on specific deals in the coming weeks, as well as a recap of the week to come towards the end of each week.
