Register here and book any JetBlue award by 11:59 PM ET on June 19 (this coming Monday) for travel between now and July 31, 2017, and you’ll get a 15% rebate on the points redeemed. You do have to have enough points upfront to pay the full price. The 15% discount will be returned to your TrueBlue account four to six weeks after the end of July.

Unlike previous promotions, there are no blackout dates and days of the week that the discount doesn’t apply to. Here are the conditions of the promotion:

JetBlue’s loyalty program is revenue based, meaning the number of points you need is based on the ticket price. JetBlue points are worth roughly 1.5 cents each toward a ticket. Read this post to learn the basics about JetBlue awards. When points are revenue based, award sales are certainly the best time to redeem as you’ll get a higher value for each point.

For example, a one-way ticket between Orlando and Newark in late July would cost $88:

With the current 15% discount, you’d pay 5,500 TrueBlue points upfront and get a rebate of 825 points.

You’d be getting 1.88 cents of value per TrueBlue point, which is excellent.

Mint Class

One of the highest value awards is for Mint Class between New York and Los Angeles and New York and San Francisco. During the valid sale dates, you can get a fully flat bed in a fully enclosed Mint Suite for 42,200 TrueBlue points. After the rebate, that would be only 35,870 points.

Scott wrote extensively about the amenities and price that make Mint “By Far The Best Deal on Domestic Business Class” so check out that post for more information on why I’d take advantage of this discount to book Mint Class.

How to Get TrueBlue Points Fast

If you didn’t get a surplus of TrueBlue points from the Virgin America/JetBlue points match promotion last month, you can transfer 250 Membership Rewards to 200 JetBlue points if you’re short of the award you want. With this discount on awards, that may make sense, but make sure to run the numbers first.

You wouldn’t be able to earn the bonus points in time for booking with the current promotion, but the JetBlue Plus card comes with 30,000 TrueBlue points for spending $1,000 on the card within three months. Other valuable benefits include (but aren’t limited to) a free checked bag, 50% off inflight purchases, and a 10% rebate of TrueBlue points on each redemption. If you have a JetBlue Plus card, you can stack this promotion with the rebate benefit from the card for even more savings.
