Facebook Messenger now allows you to book an Uber ride directly from a conversation.

To celebrate, you can get your first Uber ride booked through messenger for free, up to a $20 ride.

For a limited time, you’ll get a free ride the first time you use this feature (up to $20 value) with Uber. All you have to do to claim your free ride is link your existing Uber account or set up a new account within Messenger and request a ride. Driver status updates and payment receipts will get delivered to a private conversation between you and Uber. With everything in one place, you can seamlessly keep track of your ride and payment history.

If you have an Uber account, link it in Facebook Messenger to get the next ride free. If you don’t have an Uber account, sign up for Uber here instead, and we will each be given a free ride up to $15. Then once you’ve used that, get the free $20 ride from Messenger.

Unfortunately Uber in Facebook Messenger hasn’t been rolled out for everyone. I deleted my Facebook Messenger and downloaded it again, and I still didn’t have the option to link my Uber.

To see if your Facebook Messenger app gives you the option, click on any conversation.

Then at the bottom of the conversation where the icons are, you should see a car icon.

Mine doesn’t have the car icon. Hopefully it will soon, and I can get my free $20 ride.
